I LIVE MY LIFE LIKE A CANDLE IN THE WIND!

so believe it or not yesterday when i got home from work i went into my room and noticed a new scent... what could it be, i wondered, and then lo and behold there they were!!! two brand-spanking-new yankee candles! my very sweet roommates have contributed to the cause!! so now 'chocolate chip cookie' and 'fresh comfort' live in harmony with all my other little beauties!

WHEN IT'S TIME FOR SIESTA YOU CAN WATCH THEM GO BY...

my lunch hour is a wonderful time to turn my cubicle into a little shrine, light my candles ('afternoon delight' and 'windswept macaroon' are two favorites), and reflect upon my feelings while munching on my pb&j (although sometimes i switch it up and have ham and cheese with mustard. fake ham, that is.) it's beautiful out, the sun is shining, the wind is blowing and even though i sit in my tiny space not unlike a veal i am really just truly thankful for all the many blessings in my life. especially samoa ice cream. that is just the biggest blessing of all. i am very thankful to those little girl scouts for making my life meaningful once a year.

HUBBA HUBBA!

i admit it! i have a new crush! now i know that elias, my boyfriend of several days and years, months and weeks, will be devastated but just look at this guy! i saw him at the quickie mart this morning and snuck this photo. then i followed him home.

i think i will leave him a nice gift-pak of yankee candles. he will FOR SURE love me then. he looks like he might like 'cinnamon buns', 'tantric gardens' and perhaps an 'olive ingenuity' votive. we'll see!!!

EVERY ROSE HAS ITS HANGOVER

ohhhh... long island iced tea does NOT taste like chamomile but more like tacky 80s hair metal. instead of going to a 'bar' last night we ended up at the ranch bowl to see bret michaels of the band 'poison'. well i do NOT want to talk dirty to that skanky potty-mouthed over-the-hill should-be-out-to-pasture but for-some-reason-isn't formerly slightly glorious c-list warbler. that said, i do miss cc deville. i talked to him on the phone once. he was funny. check out the rest of the marquee. yo flaco! yes! i am GOING BACK!

BAR NONE...

tonight i am going to a 'bar'. my friend susan tells me i just HAVE to try a 'long island iced tea'. i do like my tea!! chamomile is just so relaxing after a hard day. i wonder if a 'long island iced tea' tastes like chamomile? i wonder if it is relaxing. perhaps i will meet a nice 'man'. my boyfriend is out of town. sometimes life is lonely like that. yay bars!!!

sooo... remember when i said i wish i had a picture of the milk?! well, here it is! i took it this morning while the rain pattered down and you know thank god for the rain! all my plants were dying! dying, i tell you. and things don't always come back from the dead. sometimes we must live with finality.

BLOOD IN THE STREETS IT'S UP TO MY KNEES...

crime is so prevalant today. i was just watching the news and every night i am shocked and saddened over the state of the world. i thought i would post a picture from my night out with the lapd (i did what's called a 'ride-a-long'. that is where you 'ride along' with them in the car! i stole some handcuffs.)

here we were in the middle of a terrible shootout at edgewater terrace and silver lake blvd. now you might think i wouldn't go for this sort of thing but i like to understand my world!! maybe we should all understand. my world, that is.

HEY! IT'S ME AGAIN!

well it has been like five minutes since i last posted and you know how i like to keep in touch!! i was just thinking about god and sunsets and sunsets and god and i thought, 'wouldn't it be nice to share with all my peeps (hee hee!) that wonderful place where i like to worship?' it's called hallgrimskirkja and it's in reykjavik, iceland. i try to get there every sunday. i like to be filled with the glory and the grace. sometimes i get a little more glory than grace. sometimes more grace than glory. which reminds me, i need to run to the store and replenish my 'glory and grace' yankee candles. they really are the best. have i mentioned yankee candles to you yet? they have a whole store at the summit. i highly recommend it.

THE ROAD HOME

so now i'm at home. isn't it just superfun to be home on a friday evening? god treated me with this perfect perfect sunset tonight! well, ok, not really he didn't since i took this in england over two years ago but this is how i imagined the sky to look as i drove home. sometimes it is neat to be creative!!! i get that right side of my brain working and you just never know what's gonna come out! there is a new episode of monk tonight. i'm very happy. that tony shaloub has really 'got something'! i think it's time for the 'romantic visions' yankee candle. boy, those yankee candle people ought to send me some free stuff! i am their NUMBER ONE AMBASSADOR!!

THOMAS KINKADE AND ME...

even though sunset is the bestest part of the day sometimes other hours are nice, too! this is from a trip to alaska where i sat outside with my 'northern lights' yankee candle and just breathed in that last frontier aroma!

this picture reminds me of one of my favorite painters, thomas kinkade, the painter of light! ok... it's 5pm! tgif! tffn!

HARVEST MIST!

my, my! don't you just love a pretty sunset? sometimes i like to light my special 'harvest mist' yankee candle and just watch the sun go down. the beautiful aroma really just adds something, don'tcha think?
